2018 University Operations Staff Achievement Awards Nominations Now Open
In 2015, the Vice-President University Operations established the annual Staff Achievement Awards Program in order to recognize exceptional staff contributions to the success of their particular unit, the University Operations portfolio and the University. The program provides University Operations with another opportunity to thank staff for the valuable work performed throughout the year. CERN, the international lab near Geneva, is home to the Large Hadron Collider, the world’s largest particle accelerator (photo by Claudia Marcelloni/CERN) It takes 22 member states, more than 10,000 scientists and state-of-the-art technology for CERN to investigate the mysteries of the universe. U of T shares its budget for 2018-2019
Diversity and equity initiatives, improving the undergraduate experience, recruiting a diverse range of international students, and expanding partnerships and opportunities around the world – those are some of the priorities in University of Toronto’s proposed spending plan for next year. Governing Council will vote on the $2.68 billion proposed operating budget for the 2018-2019 fiscal year on April 5. Davis labs at U of T Mississauga receive $17-million upgrade, part of LIFT project
A $17-million renovation project has overhauled the infrastructure serving the Davis Building's “wet” scientific laboratories, sweeping away outdated technology and setting the stage for energy-efficient, modern and future-ready lab space. The funding of the laboratories at U of T Missisauga is part of the Lab Innovation for Toronto (LIFT) project, announced in July of 2016, that will see nearly half of the University of Toronto's research labs upgraded over two years.
