I am pleased to announce that Todd Baril will be joining Ancillary Services in the new role of Director of Business Operations for Food Services.

Todd is an accomplished hospitality professional with international experience in hotel, restaurant, bar and cruise ship operations. He has been part of several opening teams in the hotel industry, and worked as a key member of the food service leadership team at the Vancouver Winter Olympics. One of Todd’s very first jobs was working in a University residence as an RA, and he is looking forward to returning to a role where he can work closely with and for students.

The Director of Business Operations will be a key contributor to the success of our new self-operated food service venture, and will work closely with Jaco Lokker, our Director of Culinary Operations, to implement our new plans for the campus. Reporting to Todd will be Beverage Services, Retail Services, Catering and Banquets, Marketing, and Finance & Operations. In addition, he will have primary responsibility for ancillary budgeting, franchise and contracted service agreements, and our meal plan program.

Todd’s first day will be Tuesday, May 24, and he will be based at 229 College. Those of you who have food service operations in your buildings that are transitioning this summer, or that are under construction, will be hearing from Todd very soon after he arrives.
